Ways in detecting hypertension.
- With the medical advancement, there are many ways on how to detect high blood pressure. Initially sphygmomanometer, is the basic tool. Over time there are lot of extensive tests and laboratory examinations conducted for a thorough study and determination when a person has hypertension.
- Ultrasounds for detection of adrenal glands enlargement
- Detection of damage blood vessel using ECG, echocardiograms, heart xray, and doppler ultrasound for blood flows in different pulse points of the body.
- Creatinine and potassium tests, to determine how functional are the kidneys
- Blood glucose test, determines the presence of diabetes
- Urine and lipid tests for electrolytes, hormones and cholesterol detection respectively
There are standard blood pressure range to identify the level of pressure and when to seek medical attention.
